Passive Income Series – What Does Your Best Average Day Look Like?

What does your best average day look like?  Your best average week?  Your best average year look like?  This is a question from Paul R. Scheele’s , The Ultimate You Mindfest, Day 3, “Following  Through With Unwavering Consistency” on Learning Strategies.

Let’s apply this question to the Passive Income Series here.

This is an important question if you are looking for passive (or active income).  Thinking of the passive income side of things, it’s important to be able to really define how you want that end result to look like and even more importantly what it feels like.  Stephen Covey’s famous ‘start with the end in mind’ success principle for highly successful people, you can do the same here for your passive income endeavors (any endeavor) but I think that as for something like passive income it’s a little more pie I the sky kind of thinking when you start out.   What I mean by pie in the sky if you don’t understand that expression is that it means wishful thinking.

Sure who doesn’t want money to just pour in from some vaguely defined source that takes little or no energy to create, maintain or manage?  It sounds too hard to come by doesn’t it?  While you can imagine winning the lottery and then sitting on some beach in the tropics knocking back margaritas, that is all fine and good for a while.  And all vacations are great.  but you’ll have a day-to-day routine at some point.  At some point, you’ll still have to manage your life.  You’ll still want to pursue expanding yourself, your life and your experiences.  So how does that look?  How does that feel?

That is why you need to have a really concrete, day-to-day feeling and understanding of how your life is going to look, feel and how you are going to BE as you have this ‘passive’ income pouring in.  There is more than just that lump sum of money that pays off the debts, buys a crazy fast car and allows you to go bake in the tropical sunshine somewhere.  How are you going to manage?  Who have you become?  What are you like with that kind of money or that kind of success?

Let’s say you write an ebook that goes viral and gets huge traffic to your site and you’re making really good money from it.  Now what?  What it’s look like from there?  Are you giving interviews with magazines, radios, are you being solicited by people to promote and endorse their products?  How are you dealing with the success, the fame so to speak?  If it’s popular, it’s going to be giving you feedback on a regular basis.  How are you dealing and working with that success and feedback?

When you can project and define and feel and accept all the nitty-gritty details of this ideal scene, then you are a vibrational match to that very thing you are wanting.  Not only are you getting so used to that future you, it almost feels like you are living it, you are so much in this visualization state of being.  And you are also pre-paving the way for how you’ll know how to act and react in those future situations.  You make it real by seeing it, feeling it and becoming it.  It will feel so natural to you as it comes to you that nothing will feel like big leaps and bounds, just next logical steps.

If you cannot perceive your life in a very real sense of everyday average living and feeling with this new stream of income, then how you could ever manifest it?  You won’t.  It has to be so much a part of your thoughts, feelings, attitudes and beliefs that it is you.  You have to be you in this future ideal scene.

Now if you are trying to do this and you can’t get those images, you can’t see your life playing out with great detail, it’s because you are not ready.  You can try and force it but that is going about it the hard way.  You need to start much more general and just go with feelings first such as,  “I want this passive income because I want to feel free to explore X or I want to feel good and excited about life and having $XXXX will enable me to do Y and Z this year.”

Starting with the end in mind is very smart advice.  Adding to that vision, asking why you want it helps you to conjure up the real reasons you are wanting to create what you are creating.  You need these things so that you feel your way to your desired outcome because everything you ever want is because you think that in the having of it, you’ll feel better.

Coming at your goal from this perspective, you are leveraging your inner power by aligning with your inner self, your subconscious mind and your heart.  Your heart is in it for emotional reasons.  Identifying those emotional reasons helps you speak its language.  Now you will feel more on purpose and in sync or in harmony with your entire self as you pursue your quest for passive income.  You’ll take action from the deep knowing within you and so you’ll never do it just for the money.  You’ll do it because you want to have more free time to spend with your family, so that you can pursue other important personal endeavors or development like a sport, music or art.  You’ll do it because you know that you’re working to have more happiness in your life not just money.

How to proceed.

If you can work on it from this perspective, then you can have more fun visualizing your life and how you want to put together your best average day, week and year.  Remember that you aren’t going for the best day of your life, just what a really good but average day is for you.  Your day-to-day kind of life.  Then work your way up towards your best average week.  What would feel comfortable and normal but productive and realistic.  Realistic is the operative word here because you can get carried away thinking you are going to get 100 things done on your to-do list if you are really brining in the money but that isn’t true.  Life is about never really getting it done.  So learn to live with it.  It won’t change when you are a millionaire.  (it’ll make it even worse!)

So aim for a comfortable but better lifestyle than you are living now.  Align with that new feeling and vibe and see how you can bump it up some.  What are you doing?  How much time does it take?  What are you doing with your free time?  What time do you wake up?  Go to bed?  What are your meals like?  Who are hanging around with?  How are you expanding your business?  Your mind?  Your investments?  These are few good places to start and see how you want your passive income to flow to you in the future.
